Parker County Appraisal District Tax Parcels

The Parker County Appraisal District (Parker CAD) attempts to: 1) identify all real and personal property, and 2) then value each parcel. Their primary mission is to equitably spread the property taxes paid to entities in the county as accurately and equitable as possible. Parker County Appraisal District had 121,400 tax parcels in 2021 and 16 appraisers to value them and conduct tax protest hearings. That works out to 7,588 tax parcels per appraiser.

Parker County Appraisal District has a lean level of staffing. We estimate about 25% of appraisal district appraisers work on valuation while the balance work on measuring new property and other inspections. We further assume the appraisers have 3 months or 66 days to complete valuations. Based on these assumptions, an appraiser at Parker County Appraisal District completes 460 valuations per day during the valuation period. The high pace of valuation per day is illustrative of the difficulty of accurately and uniformly valuing all 121,400 properties in Parker County.
